Joining CASID gives students, researchers, teachers and practitioners access to a broad network of people working in development and development studies. We are the largest organization of its kind in Canada. Our journal, the Canadian Journal of Development Studies, had an impact factor of 2.22 in 2021.

15% reduction in membership fees for students;

Eligibility for a “best paper” cash prize open only to students of institutional members;

Fees

  • Over 30,000 full-time students: $5000 
  • 20-30,000 full-time students: $3000
  • 10-20,000 full-time students: $1500
  • 5-10,000 full-time students: $500

There is also a “Builder” category for universities without an IDS program per se, but where a relevant course or courses are offered. The fee for this category, available for a limit of two years, is $150.
