Dear CASID members,

The CCIC-CASID annual conference will be hosted at Carleton University in Ottawa on September 19-20, 2018. This is a terrific opportunity for academics to present research conducted in collaboration with domestic and international civil society organizations, activist networks, community organizations and policy makers. There are spots reserved specifically for academic researchers to lead panels so I hope many of you will consider applying.

This conference is an important component of a research program entitled Next-Generation Leadership: New Models for Canadian Collaboration in International Development (www.ccic.ca/what_we_do/next_generation_e.php) undertaken as a collaboration between CASID and CCIC. Over a three-year IDRC-funded program (2017—2019), CCIC and CASID will identify and promote new ways of working collaboratively between international development scholars, practitioners, academic and non-academic researchers, students and policymakers.

We look forward to seeing you in Ottawa in September.

Dr. Bipasha Baruah, CASID President
