Student Contributors

Student contributors are those whose pieces have been selected for publication on the platform. These contributors will be responsible for incorporating Editorial Board feedback, and providing a completed piece within the allotted time. Editorial Board

The Editorial Board is responsible for reviewing, editing, and providing feedback to student op-ed and blog authors. The Editorial Board will be asked to meet with a member of the Student Steering Committee (SSC) at the beginning of their term for onboarding purposes. Members of the Board will have the flexibility to provide their feedback on student submissions at their convenience within a predetermined  review period. Board members also have the unique role of championing the platform and encouraging submissions to the platform among their networks. 

Some members of the Board may be tasked with mentoring a contributor through their piece. This duty may include helping a contributor integrate Board feedback into their pieces, maintaining communication on an as-needed basis. This framework of mentorship provides students with valuable connections and the ability to take a piece from start to publication more smoothly.

Student Steering Committee

The Student Steering Committee is currently composed of 7 dedicated students from the University of Ottawa and we are looking to grow! This group is spearheading this initiative, managing its growth, and liaising with external stakeholders and internal governance. Student Steering Committee members have terms ranging from 1-2 years to ensure sustainability of the project. 

The next Student Steering Committee recruitment period is projected to begin in Summer 2021.
