The following is an update regarding the upcoming 2019 CASID Conference ‘Inclusive development? Expanding circles of development research and practice’ at the University of British Colombia, June 5th 7th, 2019.

1. Program
Please find an updated program attached. If you note any oversights or problems, including scheduling conflicts, or if you are presenting and are unable to attend please let us know directly by emailing and we’ll do our best to accommodate additions/changes. The final program will be circulated May 22nd, 2019. No hard copies of the program will be provided. Thank you for your understanding.

2. Conference Welcome and Opening Panel – June 5th, 08:30-10:00, BUCH A103

Please join us for opening remarks from the CASID board and what is sure to be an engaging and stimulating opening panel featuring: Furqan Asif, University of Ottawa; April Ingham, Pacific Peoples Partnership; Jess Notwell, University of Guelph; Ajay Parasram, Dalhousie University; and Yara Younis, Simon Fraser University. Morning beverages will be provided.

3. CASID Banquet

The CASID Banquet will be held in the evening of Day 2 (Thursday June 6th) of the conference at Local Public Eatery, Kitsilano (2210 Cornwall Ave) and is open to everyone (individual billing, some light snacks provided). Please RSVP here.

4. Student Paper Prizes – Call for Submissions – DEADLINE EXTENDED to May 17th

There are two student paper prizes awarded each year. Please see the links below for more details.

5. Congress 2019 Information and Planning your Stay

  • Registration is open!
  • Registration fees rise after May 31st.
  • Registration requires paying Congress fees + CASID conference fees.
  • Additional costs: any other Associations you may be attending + banquet on June 6th.
  • Book Travel and Accommodations early. Discounts are available.
  • See the Congress Program for additional events and programming (Big Thinkers etc).

6. Travel Bursaries
Travel bursaries have now been awarded. Thank you to all those who applied.

Additional information and updates will be sent in the coming weeks.
